Hi we are fundraising for the Sweet Dreams Foundation's vital initiative aimed at promoting the importance of Kangaroo Mother Care, Tummy Time, and bonding with NICU babies after they are discharged from the hospital. We are committed to improving the well-being and development of premature and low birthweight infants in our community. With your support, we can make a significant impact on these vulnerable infants and their families.
Project Overview:
The Sweet Dreams Foundation's "NICU to Home RooBaby Bonding Program" is designed to provide educational resources and support to parents of NICU babies during their transition from the neonatal intensive care unit to their homes. We recognize that the initial bonding and care provided to these fragile infants have long-lasting effects on their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Our program focuses on three key components:
1. Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC):
Kangaroo Mother Care, or skin-to-skin contact, is a proven method for enhancing the well-being of premature infants. By funding our program, you will support training sessions for parents on KMC, ensuring they can provide their babies with this crucial contact for warmth, comfort, and development.
2. Tummy Time:
Tummy Time is essential for the physical development of infants, helping to prevent flat head syndrome and encouraging muscle strength. Our program will educate parents about the importance of tummy time, provide guidance, and supply necessary equipment to safely practice this at home.
3. Bonding Support:
We understand the emotional stress that parents of NICU babies often experience. Our program offers support groups to help parents cope with the challenges and build strong bonds with their children as they transition to home life.
Funding Request:
We are seeking fundraise $5,000 to give to 100 babies to support the implementation of our "NICU to Home RooBaby Bonding Program." This funding will cover program materials, equipment, staff salaries, and outreach efforts.
Impact:
Your support will make a profound impact on the lives of NICU babies and their families, reducing long-term healthcare costs and improving their quality of life. With increased awareness and access to these essential practices, we can ensure that every NICU baby has the best possible start in life.
We kindly request the opportunity to discuss our proposal further or provide any additional information needed. Thank you for considering our request, and for your commitment to the well-being of our community's youngest members.
God bless,
Jennifer Richards
